Job Description

My client, a rapidly growing European Pharmaceutical company, are seeking an individual, together with the Regional BD team, to work on the implementation of the short/medium term BD blue-print for China, in line with company’s aspirations, product portfolio and development pipeline.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Active scouting and championing the company’s partnering proposition to identify the opportunities including local and imported in-licensing assets (both commercialized and development-stage), acquisitions (portfolio or product)
  • Closely work with New Product Planning Team to develop detailed business cases in coordination with Marketing, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Finance and other relevant functions to identify key business risks and upsides
  • Lead due diligence work streams through cross-functional communication with internal stakeholders and partners
  • Support negotiations of key terms and conditions in close coordination with Regional and Corporate BD
  • Develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with related partners which enhance the company’s ability to secure attractive opportunities
  • Attend and represent the company in related industry conferences
  • Support Alliance team in various activities emerging from recent deals

Key Requirements

  • Life science or business degree background preferred
  • Masters preferred (including MBA), from a reputed university in China or globally
  • In-depth understanding of China pharmaceutical industry and government policy, with an excellent network in China
  • Minimum 8 years of Business Development in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Experience in managing Business Development projects with a fair knowledge in dealing with in-licensing, out-licensing and Mergers and Acquisitions projects
  • Experience in working with long-term partnerships and MNCs
  • Strongly proficient in verbal and written communication in English and Chinese
  • Results oriented with attention to detail, creative problem solver. Demonstrable analytical and negotiation skills combined with uncompromising integrity
  • High degree of presentation skills
