Job Description

We are partnered with a prestigious renewable energy MNC in search of a seasoned Legal Counsel to join the team in Malaysia, dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions. This role involves steering complex legal strategies and ensuring compliance within innovative energy projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee legal frameworks for project development, including contract negotiations, partnership formations, and compliance.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and legal assessments for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Handle corporate legal duties, draft company policies, and manage secretarial tasks.
  • Provide guidance on ethical practices and compliance, including GDPR alignment and data privacy.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external counsel to maintain legal and corporate governance standards.

 

Key Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of professional legal experience, ideally gained in top-tier law firms or in-house corporate settings.
  • Proficient in English and Malay with exemplary legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Qualified to practice in Malaysia, with a strong understanding of cross-border legal operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to train teams on legal compliance and ethical conduct.
