Our client, a global media company is looking to fill a Legal Director role based out of their Singapore office.

Reporting into the Managing Director of the region, the successful candidate will be given a broad remit to advise on a wide array of legal, compliance and corporate secretarial matters.

Day to day scope will include but not limited drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, advising on IP, licensing, competition law matters and other general corporate commercial matters.

You are LLB/LLM qualified and called to the Bar (Commonwealth jurisdiction) with at least 6 PQE gained from in-house (ideally in the media industry) and reputable law firms.

Key Responsibilities 

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements
• Advise stakeholders on general corporate commercial matters
• Advise stakeholders on possible legal risk and provide mitigation strategies
• Advise on legal matters relevant to media, marketing, production, IP, competition and licensing.
• Ensure compliance to company’s policies and regulatory requirements
• Assist in the drafting of policies, guidelines, legal templates, and other documents to ensure best practices
• Developing and maintaining contract templates
• Provide support on corporate secretarial matters
• Keep abreast of developments in the legal, regulatory and compliance landscape and advise business stakeholders accordingly

Key Requirements 

• LLB/LLM qualified
• Min 6 PQE (Commonwealth Bar)
• In-house and law firm experience (Media related industry a plus)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Team player who can operate independently
