Our client, a headlining global Fintech is looking to fill a Legal Counsel role supporting their international business across multiple domains.

This role covers a broad range of transactional, operational, and commercial matters, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to establish and expand a core part of the group’s business.

Candidates with minimum 5 PQE in private practice or in-house (particularly TMT/financial services/internet sectors) are welcomed to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of day-to-day operations and commercial transactions.

• Draft, review and negotiate contract agreements with banks, service providers, financial services partners, and clients.

• Work closely with compliance team domestically and globally on regulatory matters.

• Keep abreast of pertinent laws and regulations in financial services landscape and advising business teams.

• Educate non-legal functions on relevant laws and regulations.

• Assist in establishing knowledge base of legal documentation and agreements.

 Key Requirements

• Bar qualified with at least 5 PQE in common law jurisdiction.

• Working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese in order to liaise directly with stakeholders.

• Private practice or in-house experience with international firms/MNCs.

• Experience working in tech/payments/e-commerce/internet related fields will be most relevant.

• Strong communication skills and able to function independently and within diverse team.

• Highly attuned to business needs and able to apply legal expertise accordingly.

• Resilient and adaptable to dynamic work environment.
