Our client, an Investment Firm, is looking for a Data Engineer to act as the voice of the data engineering team, helping to “harness the power of alternative data”

Key Responsibilities

• Explore data sources to produce quality data and make it accessible
• Develop solutions with the aim of extracting insights from data, from ingestion stage to transformation and interface
• Work closely with the investment professionals, quants and data scientists
• Design, develop and deploy solutions 
• Build tools and automation capabilities for data pipelines to improve the data platform
• Drive the data strategy through challenging current processes and realising enhancement opportunities
• Work on data warehousing, data pipelining and data processing
• Act as the primary D.E. in a team of 5; face off to business

Key Requirements

• At least 7 years' experience with core experience in data engineering
• Consistent track record with reputable investment firms/hedge funds is preferred
• Experience with data warehousing/distributed computing/machine learning
• Python/R
• AWS/GCP/Azure/Jupyter/NiFi
• NoSQL/RDBMS
• Spark/Hadoop
• Degree in Computer Science recommended
