Title: Blockchain DevOps Engineer

My client is a NASDAQ-listed cryptocurrency exchange business that is fast becoming a global brand with offices across Europe, the US, and Asia. They are actively searching for a Blockchain DevOps engineer to join their expanding team.

The Role:

This role will be responsible for providing the engineering, release, maintenance, and lifecycle management of blockchain nodes. Reporting to the Operations Manager this role will also cover the maintenance and support for the application and infrastructure across various platforms to ensure that the security, service, and efficiency of the systems are to the highest standard in an ever-changing digital world.

The platforms consist of AWS/Internal hosted Linux infrastructure running Kubernetes managed Docker containers. We host an established Gitlab DevOps pipeline to build, deploy and test every code release we make across our tiered Dev, Test, and Prod platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineering and testing new blockchain technologies and packaging to run with the platform will be the primary focus of this role. Taking requirements from Operational Support and Development teams, the candidate will be able to build nodes into the Gitlab pipeline, integrating with all components (AWS, Docker, Gitlab, Kubernetes) to achieve the desired solution.

• Performance and tuning of blockchain nodes and digging into the platform, to pinpoint issues, bottlenecks, or bugs will be key to providing support to the Dev and Ops teams.

Key Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience in working with blockchain nodes

• A minimum of 5 years experience of in supporting Linux based systems (2nd or 3rd line support) with demonstration of scripting and automation capabilities

• Experienced knowledge of AWS services and solutions

• Experienced knowledge of Kubernetes management

• Experienced knowledge of building Docker container solutions

• Experienced knowledge of using Gitlab/DevOps CI pipelines

• Working ability to troubleshoot technical issues

• An interest in security and cryptography technologies

• Proven ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies
