Our client, a leading global private equity firm, is looking for a Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel with a focus on data privacy. Reporting to the APAC Head of Legal, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on all matters related to data privacy laws and regulations, ensuring that the company's data privacy risks are well managed, and policies and processes are robust in relation to evolving data privacy laws in the APAC region.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise the company and its stakeholders on data privacy-related matters, including compliance with data protection frameworks such as GDPR, PDPA, and other applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage data privacy risks by ensuring policies and processes are robust and up-to-date.
• Conduct training on data privacy matters for the company's employees.
• Drive global data privacy projects and initiatives.
• Advise and support on general corporate commercial matters, as needed.

Key Requirements:

• 5-10 years of post-qualification experience in data privacy, with experience in private equity or finance sectors preferred.
• Strong knowledge and experience with data protection frameworks such as GDPR, PDPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Qualified to practice law in Singapore and/or another common law jurisdiction.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to effectively advise and educate stakeholders on complex legal issues.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
