Our client, a global leading FinTech conglomerate is looking to fill a Legal/Senior Legal Counsel, Technology & Products role in Singapore. Reporting to the Head of Legal, Technology & Products, this is a newly created role with an international remit.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include advising on legal and regulatory matters related to new products. The domain areas are broad and will include big data, blockchain, AI, and other emerging/frontier technologies.

The ideal candidate should be an experienced lawyer (min 6 PQE) with a good mix of law firm (TMT practice) and in-house (Technology Company) experience. Candidates coming straight from law firms are welcome to apply. Due to the need to liaise with colleagues across international markets, the ability to converse in Mandarin will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to business and products teams, especially in matters related to new products (often in new/emerging technologies - AI, Big Data, Blockchain; etc)

• Provide end-to-end strategic legal advice to commercial, product, and operation teams (from product design to go-to-market strategies to eventual product launch)

• Collaborate with colleagues within the legal function (i.e. data privacy, IP, and other specialists) to manage legal matters related to technological innovation

• Advise business stakeholders on legal matters related to commercial outcomes and business development

• Keep abreast of developments in legal and regulatory frameworks in emerging technologies and ensure processes and policies are kept robust and relevant

• Manage external law firm support as and when required

• Coach and mentor junior colleagues

Key Requirements

• LLB/LLM/JD qualification

• Min 6 PQE

• Strong relevant experience gained in law firm and/or in-house roles (with Big Tech/Internet companies)

• Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin (Due to the need to liaise with colleagues across international markets)

• Team player who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
