Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel to join our client’s established legal team within a leading hospitality and real estate group. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and support across a wide range of corporate commercial matters, with a particular focus on hotel management agreements, leasing, tenancy agreements, and other relevant areas of expertise. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures, and assist with corporate secretarial and dispute matters as they arise.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and support in relation to hotel management agreements, leasing, tenancy agreements, and other general corporate commercial matters.
  • Assist in transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist with corporate secretarial matters, working closely with external service providers when required.
  • Support the resolution of disputes and provide legal guidance throughout the process.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends, providing proactive advice and recommendations to the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and senior management, to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee their work as necessary.

 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) as a practicing lawyer.
  • Strong background in Corporate Real Estate/M&A practice groups within leading law firms or relevant in-house roles in Real Estate/Hospitality Groups.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in hotel management agreements, leasing, tenancy agreements, and general corporate commercial matters.
  • Proven track record in handling transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and related legal documentation.
  • Familiarity with corporate secretarial matters, including entity formation, governance, and compliance.
  • Experience in resolving disputes, either through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Professional integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
