Job Description

Our client is a leading global MNC with a diverse portfolio of products distributed across key markets in APAC, Europe, and the Americas. With an established legal team headquartered in Singapore (and based across their key offices), they are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to distribution agreements, joint ventures, licensing, and other corporate transactions.
  • Provide legal counsel and support on mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships within various global markets.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters, compliance, and regulatory issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage legal risks and ensure adherence to corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Liaise with different departments, including but not limited to finance, marketing, and operations, to provide legal guidance on diverse business initiatives.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support strategic decision-making and business operations.
  • Manage and oversee disputes as and when they arise, collaborating with external counsel and internal stakeholders to strategize and resolve legal conflicts.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on potential disputes, aiming for efficient and favourable resolutions.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a practicing lawyer.
  • Proficiency in both transactional and general corporate commercial matters.
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese; fluency in Mandarin will be highly advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a reputable law firm, specializing in corporate practice.
  • In-house experience, preferably within the B2B sector, demonstrating a solid understanding of commercial transactions and business dynamics.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, and manage complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide commercially pragmatic legal advice.
  • Demonstrates a mature and composed demeanour in handling complex legal issues and high-pressure situations.
