Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including M&A transactions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, including property acquisition and disposition agreements, lease agreements, and construction contracts.
- Conduct legal due diligence on potential investments and transactions, identifying risks and advising on mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across different departments to ensure legal compliance and risk management within the organization.
- Keep abreast of relevant legal developments and regulatory changes affecting the real estate industry, and provide proactive advice to the business.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal function.
- Handle ad-hoc legal projects and initiatives as required by the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university; admission to the Singapore Bar or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of PQE in corporate law, with a focus on M&A or corporate real estate practice gained from top-tier law firms.
- Strong understanding of corporate and commercial law principles, with experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts and agreements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive and commercially minded, with a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in additional languages would be advantageous.
- Prior in-house experience or exposure to the real estate industry would be preferred but not essential.
