Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Legal Counsel with 5 to 10 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) to join our team. Reporting directly to the management team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing legal counsel and guidance on a spectrum of legal matters, with a primary focus on commercial contracts and regulatory affairs within the life sciences sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements with regional partners, including but not limited to licensing agreements, distribution agreements, strategic partnerships, and vendor contracts.
  • Offer expert advice and support on regulatory issues pertinent to the life sciences industry, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify legal risks and proactively implement strategies to mitigate these risks, providing solutions that align with business objectives while maintaining legal and ethical standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, sales, marketing, and compliance, to provide legal guidance and support on various projects and initiatives.
  • Handle and oversee legal disputes, collaborating with external counsel when necessary, to achieve timely and favourable resolutions.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B or equivalent). Called to the Bar.
  • 5 to 10 years of PQE in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks within the life sciences sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
