Our client, a leading global crypto exchange that offers a secure and reliable platform for buying, selling, and trading digital assets. The company's mission is to provide a world-class experience for our users by delivering innovative products and services while ensuring the highest standards of security and compliance.

We are currently assisting the exchange to look for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal & Compliance to lead their legal and compliance team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of more than 10 professionals and ensuring that their operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal and compliance strategies and policies that align with business goals and objectives.

• Monitor regulatory developments and provide advice to senior management on potential impacts to business operations.

• Advise on legal and compliance issues related to new product and service offerings.

• Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements.

• Oversee the drafting and negotiation of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.

• Manage relationships with regulators and government agencies.

• Develop and deliver compliance training programs to staff members.

• Conduct internal investigations and manage external legal proceedings.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably with some years gained from the crypto exchange industry.

• Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and standards in the crypto industry.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders.

• Hands-on, proactive, and commercially minded with the ability to balance legal and business considerations.

• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
