Our client is a leading European headquartered Infrastructure and Engineering MNC with a significant presence across the APAC region. We are now seeking a diligent and proactive Compliance Officer to join its dynamic team in Singapore.
This newly created role is pivotal in supporting the APAC Head of Compliance and will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the company’s compliance framework. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably within a multinational corporation (MNC) or a consulting firm, and will be well-versed in data protection, compliance programs, investigations, training, monitoring, and related compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
- Implement and monitor data protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments and audits.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs across the APAC region.
- Assist in the drafting and updating of compliance policies and procedures.
- Ensure alignment of local compliance programs with global standards and regulations.
- Conduct thorough investigations into compliance breaches or concerns.
- Document findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of compliance issues.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees at all levels.
- Maintain training records and ensure ongoing compliance education.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and update training materials accordingly.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management.
- Identify and report on compliance risks and trends.
- Provide support on various compliance-related projects as needed.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
- Foster a culture of compliance within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant compliance experience, preferably within an MNC or a consulting firm.
- Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent investigative and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
