Key Responsibilities
  • Forge strategic partnerships with major European consumer goods brands, with a special focus on merchants in German-speaking countries (DACH).
  • Drive merchant business growth in the region through acquisition, marketing campaigns, and daily operations. Leverage platform capabilities and resources alongside merchant and ecosystem assets to drive value.
  • Collaborate with European and headquarters' functions to achieve objectives.
  • Analyze opportunities and needs in the acquiring market among major European consumer goods merchants, with the DACH region as the primary target.
  • Monitor tourism, retail, fashion, and luxury sectors, profiling key players and competitive dynamics.
  • Develop and execute strategies for marketing, communication, positioning, and customer initiatives, considering various retail approaches and regional differences.
  • Understand Key Accounts' pain points, competition, and ways Alipay's payments and mobile marketing can enhance their growth.
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at C-level and operational levels within major Key Accounts in the region.
  • Analyze existing and potential acquiring partners that could support merchant opportunities.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle for promoting Alipay payment and marketing services to key accounts.
  • Coordinate legal, compliance, product, and tech aspects during negotiation and implementation of solutions.
  • Collaborate with acquirers to distribute Alipay offerings among selected key accounts.
  • Monitor Key Accounts' performance and propose improvement strategies when necessary.
Key Requirements
  • In-depth understanding of the EU consumer goods industry's online and offline dynamics.
  • Competency in communicating with C-level and operational levels of acquirers and merchants.
  • Practical experience within the retail industry.
  • Business development acumen.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, coupled with a sales-driven spirit.
  • Ability to thrive in an international environment and adapt to strategic changes.
  • Knowledge of card payments, alternative payment methods, and global payment trends.
  • Familiarity with Chinese/Asian payment markets and buying patterns in online shopping and travel.
  • Familiarity with mobile marketing, digital services, and technology trends.
  • Cross-regional work experience preferred.
  • Team-oriented, results-focused, and self-driven.
  • Fluent in English and German. Proficiency in other languages is advantageous.
