Job Description

Our client is in search for a Chief Risk Officer into their Melbourne-based team, to take on a pivotal role within the leadership structure, dedicated to steering our governance and risk management practices.

 

Reporting directly to the CEO and maintaining a connection with the Risk sub-committee, this position is instrumental in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the corporate governance, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies. Key remit to spearhead initiatives across all facets of risk, including enterprise, operational, compliance, and financial crime, fostering a robust risk and compliance framework vital for the dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and implement comprehensive compliance and risk management strategies.
  • Engage with regulators, manage regulatory inquiries and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Lead risk assessments, maintain the risk management framework, and promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
  • Oversee the performance, development, and engagement of the risk management team, ensuring a culture of achievement and compliance.

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in Risk & Compliance within financial services, preferably with fintech and payments industry insight.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing digital-related risks and familiarity with regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
