Space Executive is committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR). As a company, we are committed to giving back to the community and creating value. Additionally, our employees are our most important stakeholders as they drive the core of our business. That's why on Friday 16th September, our London team combined their CSR and Wellness Day.
After 9:45am, they headed to Moo Canoes in Hackney Wick to participate in a canal clean-up. London's canals & rivers are under constant threat from pollutants, litter & invasive species. Moo Canoes have adopted several stretches of canal & their boats make rounding up plastic pollution active & fun. Taking part meant that the team captured litter before it can contribute to the micro plastic problem or reach our oceans.
The morning began with a safety briefing and then each team set off in pairs on canoes to pick litter with a paddle and litter picker each. Team members had a lot of fun working together during the two-hour activity. After working up an appetite, they had lunch at The Milk Float which included delicious burgers, hotdogs, chips and patatas bravas.
When asked how they felt about the activity, one of our consultants said: " It had not occurred to me how much pollution, litter and invasive species London's canals and rivers are subject to. With climate change requiring action, I felt privileged to have had the opportunity to do something good for the local community and to be able to give back."
Post the CSR activity, the team headed to Bounce in Old Street for games of Ping Pong, Wonderball (a high tech, immersive gaming experience) and drinks to finish off the day.
