Our client, a listed company-backed web3/crypto gaming startup is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Legal Counsel (min 5 PQE) to join its business.

Based in Singapore and reporting to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have experience in advising on general corporate commercial matters. Prior experience in advising on game development, marketing, partnership, IP, and other related matters would be very well-regarded. Interest in the web3/crypto space would be looked upon favorably. Knowledge and experience in advising on regulatory matters (particularly in the South Korean jurisdiction) are critical.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance and support to the company on a wide range of matters related to general corporate commercial matters.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments in the web3 gaming space.
• Review and draft legal agreements, policies, and procedures
• Work closely with the management team to identify and manage legal risks
• Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations as necessary

Qualifications:

• LLB from an accredited law school
• Called the Bar (Singapore preferred)
• Min 5 years of experience in legal practice ideally from a leading law firm and relevant in-house role(s).
• Experience in web3/crypto is a plus but not necessary. Interest in this emerging technology space would however be essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Interest to work in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in the regulatory environment in South Korea.
