Our client, a private equity backed digital infrastructure company is looking to fill a newly created Senior Counsel (Korea) role.

Reporting into General Counsel and dotted reporting into the Korea Country Head, the successful candidate will have the remit to advise on a broad range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters relevant to the Korean market.   

Day to day scope includes but is not limited to advising on general corporate commercial, transactional as well as operational matters.

To be successful in the role, you will need to be independent, take ownership in delivering quality work, and be a team player.

Key Responsibilities 

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts (Service level agreements, vendor agreements; etc)
• Advise on transactional matters including financing, investment, development, joint ventures, acquisitions, and divestments
• Advise on real estate and construction matters relevant to the development of data centers.
• Advise on general corporate commercial matters related to day-to-day operations of a digital infrastructure and data center business
• Ensure company’s compliance to regulatory and statutory requirements in Korea
• Providing compliance training to employees
• Help to establish legal and compliance policies/frameworks and ensure best practices

Key Requirements

• LLB/LLM qualified
• Korean Bar qualification (min 10 PQE)
• Prior experience in infrastructure/construction/real estate industry will be relevant. Specific experience in data centre will be very well regarded
• Independent, self-starter and a team player
