Our client is a European headquartered international MNC in the industrial space. An opportunity has arise for an experienced lawyer to join their SEA regional team as Senior Legal Counsel with a direct report.

As part of the regional management team, the successful candidate will be a key legal adviser to the regional business teams on broad scope of legal and regulatory matters. Scope of work includes (but not limited to) drafting, reviewing and negotiation of commercial contracts, advise on transactional matters (M&A, restructuring, divestment; etc) and provide support to projects.

You are legally qualified (Commonwealth jurisdiction) with at least 10 PQE. Experience in advising on a wide array of legal matters in an MNC environment will be well regarded.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Advise senior management and business stakeholders on all legal and regulatory matters
• Draft, review and negotiate broad range of commercial contracts
• Identify legal risks and come up with mitigation plans
• Help set up an effective contract management system
• Take ownership in corporate governance topics and ensure necessary actions are taken company wide
• Manage transactional matters (M&A, Divestments, Restructuring exercises; etc)
• Work closely with cross functional teams i.e. HR, Tax, Finance to provide effective legal support in various domain areas
• Supervise and liaise with outside counsel as and when required
• Manage 1 other counsel in the SG office and play a high impact role as part of the management team of the SEA region
