Our client, a leading Renewable Energy developer is looking to fill a newly created Senior Legal Counsel role.

Reporting into the General Counsel, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project development lawyer to join an established team and play a key role in the company’s growth through renewable energy project development and acquisitions.

Day to day scope will include but not limited to advising on general corporate commercial matters, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of contracts and advise on transactional matters (M&A/JV, project financing, project development; etc.)

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 PQE gained from leading law firm (Project Finance/Project Development Practice) and/or in-house renewable energy developer(s).  

Key Responsibilities 

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts

• Advise on transactional matters (M&A, JV, Project Financing/Project Development, and other relevant docs)

• Identify and mitigate legal risk in all transactions

• Advise stakeholders on legal, regulatory and compliance matters relevant to renewable energy project development and acquisition

• Ensure adherence to the company’s policies, processes, and framework

• Keep abreast of legal and regulatory development in the renewable energy sector across the APAC region

• Manage external counsels supporting on transactional matters

Key Requirements

• LLB/LLM

• Bar qualification (min 5 PQE)

• Project Finance/Project Development Practice

• In-house experience in the Renewable Energy sector (a plus)
