Our client is a prominent renewable energy developer dedicated to pioneering sustainable solutions for a cleaner future. As they expand our operations in Seoul, South Korea, they are actively seeking a Senior Counsel with a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our dynamic legal team. They welcome candidates with front-end EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), construction, and project development experience, including those transitioning from law firms.

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Counsel with a strong background in front-end EPC, construction, and project development to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of PQE and will be responsible for providing legal support to our renewable energy projects in South Korea. Candidates with prior experience in renewable energy projects will be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal guidance and support throughout the project development lifecycle.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to EPC, construction, and project development.
  • Manage and oversee a variety of contracts, including supplier agreements and construction contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with renewable energy projects.
  • Develop strategies to minimize project-related legal issues.
  • Leverage knowledge of renewable energy projects and industry-specific regulations.
  • Stay informed about relevant developments in renewable energy law.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and engineers.
  • Provide legal support and guidance to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification legal experience, including front-end EPC, construction, and project development experience.
  • Admitted to practice law in South Korea or eligible to practice in South Korea.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Prior experience in renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
