Our client, a global bank with a strong presence in the region, is looking to hire a (Senior) Corporate Counsel. This role will work within a tight-knit team and responsible for a broad legal scope. As a senior within the team, the role will also indirectly mentor and manage the more junior counsels in the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, assist and advise in bank-wide corporate legal matters
• Draft, review and negotiate the bank’s standard legal documents
• Analyse and provide sound legal advice to the business units
• Providing legal advice and guidance on legal and regulatory matters
• Keeping the senior management abreast on any relevant legal/ regulatory changes
• Mentor and guide the junior members of the legal team
• Support the Head of Legal as may be required

Key Requirements

• Law degree from a top university
• Strong legal foundation gained from either a reputable private practice firm or in-house setting
• Keen on building on or learning more banking legal work
• Matured, dependable and meticulous
• Fluency in Mandarin is ideal given the regional scope of the work
