Our client, a listed real estate company with an international portfolio of assets is looking to fill a newly created legal counsel role (min 4 PQE).

Reporting into the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be given the remit to advise on a broad range of matters including but not limited to drafting, negotiating, and reviewing of commercial contracts, advise on real estate development, investments, and other transactional matters, support corporate governance as well as litigation matters (as and when they arise).  

You are LLB/LLM qualified with min 4 PQE gained from a leading law firm (Corporate Real Estate) or from an in-house role with relevant scope and related industries.

To be successful in the role, you will need to be independent, take ownership in delivering quality work, and be a team player.

Key Responsibilities 

• Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts across the group

• Advise on transactional matters (real estate investments, real estate development)

• Advise business stakeholders on a broad range of legal, compliance and regulatory topics relevant to the real estate industry

• Identify and manage risk and liability face by the business in their areas of operations

• Support on litigation/dispute matters with outside counsel support (as and when required)

• Ensure adherence to companywide framework, policies, and processes

• Play the role of a strong legal business partner to help business team achieve commercial objectives

• Ensure compliance to relevant laws in all jurisdictions

• Advise on SGX listing compliance matters

Key Requirements 

• Bar qualification (min 4 PQE)

• Strong experience gained in leading law firms (Corporate Real Estate) and/or in-house role with a relevant scope and industries

• Experience in SGX listco and real estate industry a big plus

• Independent and able to work in a fast-paced environment
