Our client, an international conglomerate with a well-established legal team (with Singapore designated as a key regional office) is looking to fill a new Legal Counsel (2-3 PQE) role.

Reporting into the Head of Legal for the region, the successful candidate will be given the remit to advise on a broad range transactional and general corporate commercial matters across the APAC region.

A junior lawyer with min 2 years spent in a Corporate Practice law firm will be very well regarded. This is a perfect opportunity for junior corporate lawyers looking to transit in-house and develop his/her career learning from a strong regional legal team.

Key Responsibilities 

• Advise on transactional matters across the APAC region
• Advise on general corporate commercial matters
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts
• Advise stakeholders on possible legal risk and provide mitigation strategies
• Assist in the drafting of legal policies, guidelines, legal templates, and other documents to ensure best practices
• Work with external counsels (whenever appropriate) on a wide array of matters
• Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments in the company’s key markets in APAC and advise stakeholders accordingly

Key Requirements

• LLB/LLM qualified
• Bar qualification (Commonwealth jurisdiction)
• Min 2 PQE (Corporate Practice)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptable, team player who can also operate well independently
