Our esteemed client, a leading real estate development company headquartered in Hong Kong, has engaged our services to identify a highly qualified Legal Counsel. This newly created role is integral to their corporate real estate operations. We are seeking candidates with 8 to 10 years of post-qualification experience, including those transitioning from private practice. Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Advisory: Provide comprehensive legal guidance and support for corporate real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, investments and development projects.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate diverse contracts and agreements pertaining to real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct meticulous due diligence on real estate assets, identifying potential legal issues, and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of real estate laws and regulations in Hong Kong and other relevant jurisdictions, ensuring full company compliance.
  • Dispute Resolution: Oversee real estate-related disputes or litigation, collaborating with external counsel as needed to secure favourable outcomes.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with real estate transactions, providing proactive advice to the management team.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining robust corporate governance practices, including adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and project management, to align with legal objectives and strategies.
  • Legal Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation and records related to real estate transactions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, with a valid Hong Kong legal practitioner qualification.
  • 8 to 10 years of post-qualification experience, with a strong corporate real estate background, ideally in private practice or in-house roles.
  • Profound knowledge of Hong Kong real estate laws and regulations, with a general understanding of regional and international real estate legal frameworks.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex real estate contracts and agreements.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.

  • Fluency in both English and Chinese/Cantonese
