Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lease negotiations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex real estate agreements and contracts.
- Provide legal counsel on real estate development projects, from inception to completion.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and zoning requirements.
- Assist in the evaluation and structuring of real estate investments.
- Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities.
- Act as a bilingual liaison between the legal team and Japanese stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate legal matters in both Japanese and English.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the real estate industry.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies.
- 5 to 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, with a strong focus on real estate transactions.
- Extensive experience in both leading law firms and in-house legal departments.
- Proficiency in Japanese and English, with the ability to communicate and draft legal documents effectively in both languages.
- Expertise in real estate development, investment, and commercial transactions.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Admission to practice law in Japan.
