Our client, a leading and highly recognised bank is looking to fill a Legal Counsel (2-4 PQE) role.

Reporting into the Head of Legal supporting one of the key business units, this is an excellent opportunity for junior/mid lawyers looking to transit in-house with a stable and important financial institution in Singapore.

The ideal candidate would be someone with 2-4 PQE gained from leading law firm’s Corporate, Banking & Finance or Corporate Real Estate Practices. Prior in-house or secondment experience with a financial institution will be well-regarded but not a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiable a broad range of commercial contracts

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to product teams on new product development and launches

• Advise the business on legal risk and possible mitigation strategies

• Participate in bank wide projects and provide legal advisory input

• Assist in handling disputes related matters (as and when required)

• Keep abreast of industry and regulatory development and ensure bank’s policies and frameworks are stay robust and relevant

• Provide legal and regulatory support to corporate functions as well as the Consumer Banking business

Key Requirements 

• LLB from a recognised institution

• At least 2-4 PQE gained from leading law firms (Corporate, Banking & Finance or Corporate Real Estate Practices)

• Prior experience gained from a Bank or other relevant financial institution will be very well-regarded

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Team player who can operate independently
