Job Description
My client, a tier 1 private equity backed Real Estate/Logistics MNC is looking to fill a newly created Legal Counsel role. Reporting to the Regional Head of Legal, the successful candidate will be given the remit to advise on a broad range of transactional and general corporate commercial matters across the region.
Day to day scope will include (but not limited to) advising on real estate acquisitions/investments, other transactional matters (i.e. financing), drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, manage dispute matters (as and when they arises) and assist in ensuring compliance to company policies and frameworks.
This is a fantastic and highly visible opportunity for junior to mid level lawyers (from practice) or in-house counsels to explore. The company is at a high-growth stage with possible liquidity events in the future.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review and negotiate a wide array of commercial contracts
Advise on both transactional (investments, acquisitions, financing) and general corporate commercial matters
Ensure compliant to company wide policies, processes and frameworks
Identify and advise stakeholders on legal risk and mitigation strategies
Assist in managing disputes matters (as and when they arise)
Keep abreast of development in real estate laws across the region to ensure advice to stakeholders on relevant transactions are kept robust and updated
Key Requirements
LLB/LLM/JD qualified from a well-recognised University
1-4 PQE, Commonwealth Bar qualifications (SG preferred but not a must)
Whilst corporate lawyers would be well-regarded, we are open to considering candidates from a wide-array of practice groups
Real Estate/Logistics industry experience a plus but not required
Excellent communications skills
Team player
Professional competency is English and 1 other Asian languages will be very well regarded (but not a must)
