Our client, a leading global Engineering company is looking to fill a newly created Compliance Officer, APAC role based out of Singapore. Reporting into the Chief Compliance Officer (based in HQ) and APAC CFO, the successful canidate will be mandated to advise business stakeholders on a broad range of Compliance matters across the group. Key responsibilities will take a lead role in implementing Compliance framework and policies, leading compliance investigations, conducting compliance audit, conducting compliance trainings as well as monitoring and evaluating risk. 

You are degree qualified with at least 10 years of relevant compliance experience ( ideally with a global MNC). Experience in leading compliance invetigations would be very well regarded. Chinese skills is also critical due to the need to engage stakeholders in Chinese speaking markets. 

The company has a flat hierarchy, provides stability, interesting work as well as the opportunity to contribute to a start-up function in the APAC region. 

To be successful in the role, you will need to be collaborative, independent, hands on and able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Advise on Compliance matters in the APAC region
  • Design, implement and improve Compliance polices and framework (AML, PDPA, Anti-bribery; etc)
  • Take lead in compliance audit, investigations and training
  • Ensure compliance to company’s policies and regulatory requirements
  • Drive best practices in Compliance and ensure processes are optimised and adequate in managing risks
  • Promote compliance culture across the organisation

Key Requirements 

  • Degree qualification
  • Min 10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of FCPA, AML, KYC, Data Protection matters
  • Experience in leading and conducting compliance investigations
  • Chinese skills
  • Prior experience in Engineering and/or Construction industry a big plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player who can operate independently and in a fast paced environment
