Job Description

Our client, a leading consumer healthcare company, are seeking an individual to provide direction & leadership to the countries in Asia Pacific for new product launches, to promote the long term profitable growth of one of their leading categories.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and drive innovative Go-To-Market strategy complementary to new product launches, to promote long term category growth and relevance. Partner local teams to ensure successful implementation
  • Act as regional champion between Central Marketing and Asia Pacific for new product launches, influencing global brand strategies and deliveries especially in terms of scientific claims/content in accordance with region/affiliate innovation needs
  • Establish the Innovation strategy, aligned to businesses’ goals & global/regional strategic initiatives and assimilating insights, unmet needs and market/consumer/HCP trends and developing learning plans to fill the knowledge gaps
  • Innovation programs to drive include: Breakthrough and evolutionary product and packaging innovation commercial innovation, M&A, licensing and joint ventures
  • Develop and drive Innovative go to market programs complementary to the Innovative Strategy to better drive new customers’ acquisition & existing customers’ loyalty/consumption, especially leveraging on new technologies and distribution trends, including digital/e-commerce and emerging DTC
  • Lead multi-functional project teams to actualize the Innovation opportunities, including presenting recommendations and proof of principles/research results, directly to Executive Leadership for project approval and funding across stage gates
  • Drive strong business case, with clear financial targets and risk/cannibalisation profile so that the portfolio, when taken in total, delivers against expected sales/margin growth
  • Partner Brand Leads to develop marketing services at the regional level for Innovation launches, and measure their effectiveness
  • Manages, provides direction, and coordinates actions for external vendors for all innovation-related scope, to support the development of the Innovation product mix

Key Requirements 

  • Degree educated, with 10+ years of progressively responsible product marketing, brand management, and innovation/product launch experience
  • Demonstrated success in launching key products in Asia, experience in consumer/OTC healthcare is a significant bonus
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a significant roster of projects / programs and deliver on cost and timing expectations
  • Strong business/financial acumen, demonstrating strong capability to provide commentary on topics such as ROI
  • Prior exposure to country/regional marketing (including trade or digital marketing)
  • Familiarity with research methods and protocols to vet concepts and product mix developments
  • Demonstrated creativity and risk-taking in preparing new categories of products for launch
  • Ability to engage different stakeholders & past working experience in cross-cultural environments necessary
