Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (DACH)

The company:  Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed enterprise AI company whose platform unifies customer operations across voice, chat and messaging. Their agents handle routine interactions at scale so that customer teams can focus on higher-value work. The platform is trusted by over a thousand enterprise customers and operates at high volume with enterprise-grade reliability.

The role:  This is the first Forward Deployed Engineer hire in Germany, and the technical owner for DACH customers from first conversation to production. It sits closer to sales than to professional services: you are the German-speaking technical counterpart in the room while the customer is still deciding, and then the person who makes it real. Expect to spend your time in customer environments, in the platform and in code, with genuine autonomy over your own workload and timelines. Because you are the first, what you build becomes the template for the team that follows.

What you will do:

• Build and ship AI voice agents for DACH enterprise customers, covering prompts, conversation flows, edge cases, escalation and recovery logic, iterated against real call data until they hold up in production.
• Write the integration code that makes those agents useful: JavaScript and Python against customer CRMs, contact centre platforms, scheduling tools and internal APIs, so an agent can look things up and act on them mid-call.
• Run technical discovery and build customised demos for German enterprise buyers alongside the sales team.
• Own POCs end to end: scope, build, coordinate engineering and the customer, and drive them to a deployed agent live in production.
• Handle the telephony side of go-live, including SIP connectivity, call routing, transfers and contact centre configuration.
• Turn what works into the DACH playbook: repeatable demo patterns, compliance approaches and reusable agent components, and help hire the team around it.

What we are looking for:

• You have built LLM agents that real users actually touched, and can point to prompts you wrote that measurably changed how an agent behaved.
• You code. Working JavaScript and/or Python, with real experience building and debugging API integrations. You would rather open an editor than a slide deck.
• You are credible in front of enterprise customers: able to run a technical deep dive, take a sceptical question live and demo without a safety net.
• You own ambiguous work from first call to production without a project manager behind you, keeping everyone informed as you go.
• C1/C2 German plus English, based in Germany and willing to travel to Berlin monthly.
• You are on a lead track, already mentoring or leading technical work and more interested in building a function than filling a seat.
