Head of Operations – US Expansion

A PE-backed, UK-headquartered payments business is seeking a Head of Operations to lead its US growth from its newly established Atlanta HQ. The company has scaled rapidly across Europe, and following a year of exceptional performance in the US (quadrupling revenue and doubling headcount) the business is now focused on further growth in the US market.

Role Overview:

This role will be responsible for building and scaling operational infrastructure in the US, with a focus on their Atlanta head office. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive process optimisation, and support commercial growth through operational excellence. The role is central to the company’s strategy to make the US its core market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead the US operations team, with a focus on hiring, onboarding, and performance management
  • Design and implement scalable processes across sales, customer success, and partner operations
  • Collaborate with product and commercial teams to support partner integrations and merchant experience
  • Own operational KPIs and reporting, ensuring alignment with global standards
  • Act as a key stakeholder in strategic planning and execution for US growth

Ideal Profile:
  • Proven experience scaling operations in a high-growth FinTech, payments, or technology environment
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, ideally with experience in multi-site or international operations
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of improving efficiency and customer outcomes
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Atlanta
